Here are some photographs from the senior awareness day event at Micke Grove park on Saturday, June 1. This was again another well put together event by San Joaquin county which provides resources for senior citizens regarding medical, health, financial and information pertaining to living and lifestyle choices for those who are older and choose some type of residential care or retirement home to complete their life cycle.
There was some great entertainment, plenty of great picnic type foods provided by the Salvation Army and the participants in their culinary program and plenty of ice cream served up by the staff of lovely ladies from San Joaquin county. The many vendors provided literature and information on their services from representatives of their businesses and there was a vast array of just about any resource concerning most basic services, and then some, leading to a much more positive life in one’s senior years.
This was a very nice event, well coordinated, with plenty of parking and shuttle carts to accommodate any attendee transportation from the shuttle parking lot or any other area where they had parked. For those returning home after the event the steady flow of shuttle buses and carts ensured all attendees an expedient and well coordinated trip home. This is an annual event brought to the senior citizen community by the county of San Joaquin and normally held the last Thursday in May. Hope to see all of you seniors there next year!
