“Partners in Education” is an effort sponsored by the Lodi Chamber of Commerce to match willing volunteers from the community to local schools. Their aim is to provide a positive influence on students and assist them to be better prepared to enter the work force. Business people and Lodi Unified School District administrators discussed ongoing Career Expo’s, “Mock” Interviews, Job Shadowing, the Adopt-A-School Program, and the City of Lodi’s GRIP Program (Lodi Gang Reduction, Intervention, and Prevention).
In addition, volunteer Dennis Yamamoto explained his plan to create business sponsorships to support and expand music education using the Ukulele. His enthusiastic presentation included not only a Ukulele lesson for all in attendance, but also a sing-a-long. (See more photos here)
